Scandinavian AS2 - Timber Windows


The double glazed Scandinavian AS2 timber window system is available in various outward and inward opening formats. Typically the outward opening AS2 is most commonly specified due to its excellent performance and functionality, with the inward opening tilt & turn window offering larger max sizes and increased ventilation. Due to its versatility the Scandinavian AS2 is perfect for projects of all sizes, domestic and commercial. It has also been used in schools, hospitals, care homes, visitor’s centres, garden rooms and luxury houses amongst many other building types. Whichever the system you choose, guaranteed protection against high humidity, dry conditions, severe rain and extreme temperatures is standard.

Customise your timber windows with transoms, mullions, plant on bars, glazed in bars and insulated panels. Trickle ventilators, opening restrictors also available.

The Scandinavian AS2 timber window system is supplied factory assembled, glazed and finished as standard. Each section of timber is individually dip treated with water based preservatives prior to finishing. A full range of wood stains and RAL finishes are available (over 250 colours) or even dual colour can be taken advantage of in order to truly personalise your timber windows.

In addition you can specify whether a matt, semi gloss or full gloss finish is required. Alternatively if a stain finish is required you can choose from our Teknos range of stains. Door finish comes as standard in satin anodised aluminium (SAA).

Side hung window
Traditionally designed. Starting from a frame height of 524mm. Practical function with locking window handles. Also available as a double casement French window without a mullion, suitable for fire escape openings.

Side guided (side projecting) window
Up to 1,6m high casements. Concealed sliding hinges within the casement to provide a modern look and increased security. The casement can be turned sideways by approximately 90° to enable access for cleaning. Also available as a double casement French window without a mullion.

Top guided window
Up to 1,84m² opening casement. Concealed sliding hinges within the casement to provide a modern look and increased security. It is recommended to use a top guided window in applications where it is difficult to clean the window from the outside: ground floor, balconies ect. Suitable for fire escape openings.

Top swing window
Up to 2,05m² opening casement, ideal for maximum glass area and light. Concealed sliding hinges within the casement to provide a modern look and increased security. The casement can be turned sideways by approximately 180° to enable easy cleaning, ideal for flats or high applications.

Tilt & turn window
Window opens inwards in two ways - traditional side hung (turn) and the ventilation opening (tilt from top of the sash). There is also micro ventilation possibility. In addition ventilation restrictor device can be added to hardware to enable to fix the position after tilting sash. Maximum weight of sash is 130 kg. Also available as a double casement French window without a mullion.

Tilt only window
The window tilts inwards from the top, but only a little, to allow ventilation. Maximum weight of sash is 130 kg.

The Scandinavian AS2 range is manufactured from slow grown Nordic pine as standard, although other timbers are available by special request. Engineered FSC approved timber profiles are used for greater strength and durability. Double glazed with drained and ventilated external beading.

Supplied with high performance double glazed units as standard, comprising soft coat low E, toughened glass and argon gas cavity (or equivalent). As standard products are supplied factory glazed and beaded externally. All glazing should be carried out in accordance with BS6262.
